As Christians we believe that the Bible the inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule for faith and life. As such, the Bible is our highest authority when it comes to knowing how we are saved and how God wants us to live. Christians believe that Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, died on a cross 2000 years ago in our place. With his life he paid the penalty for our sins so that we could be forgiven and freed to live a new life before God--both now and into eternity. We also believe that anyone and everyone can have Jesus as their Saviour (John 3:16).
Why do we call ourselves the Christian Reformed Church? Glad you asked! Our name is very meaningful.
CHRISTIAN - We hold to the Bible and three of the ancient Christian Creeds: The Apostles' Creed, The Nicene Creed, and The Athanasian Creed.
REFORMED - We hold to three Confessions that come to us from the 16th century Reformation: The Heidelberg Catechism, The Belgic Confession, and The Canons of Dort.
CHURCH - We hold to the teaching that believers in Jesus Christ are members of his holy community (the church) and that we ought to gather for worship, service and encouragement.
